Pipeline calling
Sales Dialer That Follows Each Deal From First Call to Payment
A sales dialer earns its place when it knows where each deal stands. The Auto Dialer dials by pipeline stage and moves the deal forward after every call.
Sales dialer meaning
The Auto Dialer treats a sales dialer as two jobs joined together: getting the next prospect on the line, and remembering what that prospect said last time. The dialing half works through any list a single number per turn, from the rep's own phone, with a gap between calls and a ring limit so dead numbers do not stall the session. The memory half is the pipeline. Statuses are yours to define (create, rename, recolour, drag into order), and the remark written after a call shows up on the screen the next time that person is dialed. A rep can start a session from any slice of the pipeline: today's due follow-ups, one status, one product, one lead source. When a deal closes, one tap turns the lead into a paid client and the sale lands on revenue cards for the day, week, month and year.
Sales dialer by pipeline stage
| Stage | What the rep does | What the app does |
|---|---|---|
| New lead | Makes the first call and qualifies | Dials the "new" status as a session and saves the source tag |
| Interested | Sends details and agrees a callback | Fires a WhatsApp message on the status change and sets the alarm |
| Proposal sent | Chases a decision | Includes the lead in the due-follow-ups session on the agreed day |
| Negotiation | Handles price and terms | Shows the last remark, with the attached product one tap away |
| Won | Takes the order | Creates the paid client with paid and due amounts |
| Lost or silent | Moves on | Parks numbers that never connected under lost leads, ready for win-back |
Sales dialer app
The phone side of the pipeline adds a few tools that a desk-based dialer rarely has:
- Lock-screen caller card. Name, status and last remark before you answer. Best for reps who take return calls on the move.
- Two-tap after-call sheet. Status, remark and next follow-up without leaving the call. Best for keeping the pipeline honest.
- Voice input. Speak the requirement instead of typing it. Best for reps who would rather talk than type.
- Click a number in Chrome. The phone dials what you clicked on the computer. Best for reps who research prospects on a laptop.
Sales roles in specific trades, from insurance to education, are gathered on the auto dialer for business hub, and installers selling panels have a solar dialer page of their own. The relationship between dialing and record-keeping is explored further on the CRM dialer page, and the cadence of chasing a quote is the subject of follow-up calls in sales.
Sales dialer types
Sales dialers come in three main forms. A power dialer places the next call the moment the rep is free, one line at a time; The Auto Dialer belongs here. A parallel dialer rings several numbers for one rep and connects whoever answers first, which raises the risk of silent calls. A predictive dialer paces a whole floor of agents statistically; how that differs from pacing by agent availability is set out in predictive vs progressive dialing. If the labels themselves confuse you, auto dialer vs power dialer explains why one term covers the other. For a rep whose pipeline holds a few hundred named prospects, one line at a time is usually the right speed, because every call is a conversation that depends on the last one. Solo sellers can read about an auto dialer for one person, and owners of a few reps about an auto dialer for small business.
Sales dialer example
Round numbers, invented to show the flow; not a customer result.
An account manager at an office-furniture dealer in Johannesburg has 120 open deals. On Tuesday morning she starts a session from today's due follow-ups: 25 leads. Eight are at "proposal sent", so she reads each remark on the call screen before the customer picks up. Three agree to order; she converts them to paid clients, entering the deposit as paid and the balance as due. Four others move to "negotiation" with a follow-up alarm for Thursday. The ones who do not answer are retried once at the end of the list.
Sales dialer pricing
The Auto Dialer sets a per-user price that depends on team size, quoted on call or WhatsApp, with a free trial before you commit. There is no per-minute dialer fee, since each call rides on the rep's own mobile plan.
Sales dialer limits
Choose a different tool if your reps need to ring several prospects at once, drop a recorded voicemail, or filter answering machines; none of that is in this app. Compare the approaches on auto dialer vs predictive dialer. It also cannot make a cold list warm. Before dialing people who have never heard of your company, read the guide to using a dialer for cold calls.
Sales dialer FAQ
11 questions, answered
Which sales dialer shows the deal history during the call?
The Auto Dialer shows it on the call screen itself: the caller’s name, current lead status and last remark appear as the phone rings, even over the lock screen, and the full record with past calls, chats and reminders opens with one tap.
Is The Auto Dialer a sales dialer?
Yes. The Auto Dialer is a sales dialer that runs on a salesperson’s phone and covers the whole pipeline: it dials filtered leads, records the outcome on a custom status, rings for the follow-up and converts the lead into a paid client when the deal closes.
Is there a free sales dialer?
Free tools exist, but they tend to dial and forget. No free tier exists for The Auto Dialer; instead, a trial period lets a rep can run real sessions against their own pipeline before the business agrees a per-user price.
Can a sales dialer push calls into my existing CRM?
This one can pass call outcomes and lead details on to a separate CRM through its API, and it can pull new leads in from a REST API or Google Sheets. Mapping the fields is a one-time job, usually for whoever manages your CRM.
What is a power dialer in sales?
It is a dialer that calls the next number as soon as the rep finishes the previous call, one line at a time and never ahead of the rep. The Auto Dialer works that way, with a gap you choose between calls.
What is a parallel dialer in sales?
It is a dialer that calls several prospects simultaneously on behalf of one rep, connecting whoever picks up first; the others are dropped, sometimes after they have already picked up. The Auto Dialer does not work this way. It rings one prospect per turn, so a rep never greets someone who has been left in silence.
How does a sales dialer work on a phone?
The rep picks a slice of the pipeline, such as one status or today’s due follow-ups, and starts a session. The app rings the first number through the phone’s SIM, waits out the call, opens a short sheet for the outcome and then moves on after the gap you set. Pause, skip and stop stay available throughout.
How many calls can a sales rep make in an hour with a dialer?
It depends on how long the conversations run, so no fixed figure applies. As plain arithmetic: if a call plus its notes averages three minutes, one hour holds about twenty; at six minutes, about ten. A dialer mainly removes the typing and searching between calls, not the talking.
Can I call only the deals at one pipeline stage?
Yes. The shared lead filter narrows the list by status, product, source, tag, owner or custom field, and that filtered view can be dialed as its own session. A rep can therefore spend the morning on “proposal sent” and the afternoon on new enquiries without building separate spreadsheets.
Does a sales dialer record sales calls?
There is no built-in recorder. Android handsets that already record calls can feed those files in automatically, or a rep shares a recording file into the app, and it then sits with that lead. Whether recording is allowed, and whether you must announce it, depends on where you and the prospect are.
What should a rep do when a prospect never answers?
Let the dialer retry by rule rather than by memory. Auto redial calls unanswered numbers 1 to 3 more times, either immediately, after a chosen delay, or once the rest of the list is done. Numbers that still never connect collect under lost leads, where a later win-back session can pick them up.
