Dialer for OPPO Phones: ColorOS Settings for Calls and Reminders

Before a dialer for OPPO phones can run a calling day, ColorOS has to let it launch on its own and work with the screen off. Here is where The Auto Dialer gets both permissions.

Dialer for OPPO business phones

The Auto Dialer turns an OPPO handset into a lead-calling phone: it takes the default calling role in ColorOS, dials a list from the SIM in the phone without anyone typing digits, and records what each customer said before the next number rings. On OPPO the default app is the easy part. ColorOS decides separately whether an app may start by itself and whether it may keep working after the screen goes dark. OPPO's support answer on the subject, read on 4 October 2026, notes that from ColorOS 12 the auto launch switch left the old Phone Manager tool and moved into Settings › Apps › Auto launch, while background activity is granted per app under Battery. Many recent OPPO models ship Google's Phone app as the dialer, and OPPO also offers its own ODialer on the Play Store. Whichever one your phone has, it is replaced the same way.

Dialer for OPPO default app setting

  1. Open Settings and tap Apps. On older ColorOS it is App Management, sometimes inside Additional Settings.
  2. Tap Default App (newer builds may say Default apps).
  3. Tap the phone or dialer entry and choose The Auto Dialer.
  4. Confirm. Calls, contacts and history now open in the new app.

The exact wording varies by version. The Auto Dialer also asks for the role during its own setup, so the menu is mainly a fallback. What changes when the role moves is explained in default dialer settings on Android.

Dialer for OPPO auto launch and background activity

Auto launch lets ColorOS start an app without you opening it, and background activity lets it keep working once you leave it. A dialer needs both:

Older reports on dontkillmyapp.com describe ColorOS stopping background services every time the screen turned off on some models, which is why all three matter rather than any one. Phones built on the same ColorOS roots behave much alike, so the realme UI dialer setup and the OxygenOS battery settings for OnePlus will look familiar.

Dialer for OPPO with a loan agent

The figures are round and illustrative, not taken from a customer.

A loan agent in Manila carries an OPPO Reno and handles roughly 100 applicants a month, chasing payslips and IDs. He calls each applicant, notes which document is missing, and sets a follow-up for the day it was promised. With auto launch off, his phone dropped the follow-ups whenever it restarted overnight. Once auto launch and background activity are allowed, each morning's reminders ring on schedule and today's due follow-ups can be dialed as one session. The wider process is described in loan telecalling from enquiry to documents.

Dialer for OPPO limits

An OPPO phone dials one number at a time on one SIM, and The Auto Dialer keeps it that way, so the call rate depends on how long people talk. If you are weighing that against a headset-and-browser setup, see telecalling software options. Callers who want OPPO's own call screen for personal calls can keep ODialer installed and switch the default back when work ends. Other brands with their own autostart switches have guides too, such as the dialer for Xiaomi and the dialer for vivo; the rest are covered from the Android dialer hub, and stubborn stops mid-list are in troubleshooting an auto dialer.

Dialer for OPPO FAQ

11 questions, answered

Which dialer for OPPO phones also works as a CRM?

The Auto Dialer. On ColorOS it becomes the default phone app and keeps a lead record behind every number: status, remarks, reminders, WhatsApp history and sales, all on one screen you can open during the call.

Is The Auto Dialer a dialer for OPPO phones?

Yes. The Auto Dialer replaces the default phone app on OPPO handsets running ColorOS, then calls your list one number at a time through the phone’s SIM. It needs auto launch and background activity allowed to ring reminders reliably.

How to change Google dialer in OPPO?

Many recent OPPO phones use Google’s Phone app. Open Settings, then Apps or App Management, then Default App, tap the phone entry and choose another app. Google’s app is not removed, so you can pick it again whenever you like.

Why does my OPPO close the dialer when the screen is off?

ColorOS limits apps in the background to save battery. If auto launch is off and background activity is not allowed, an app can be paused once the screen locks. Allow both for the dialer and lock it in the recent apps view.

Can I keep ODialer and still use a business dialer?

Yes, both can be installed, but only one app holds the default phone role at a time. Choose The Auto Dialer for days spent calling leads, and switch back to ODialer or Google’s app under Default App if you prefer it for personal use.

How to allow auto launch on OPPO?

On ColorOS 12 and later, open Settings, Apps, Auto launch and switch the dialer on. OPPO’s support answer says the older Phone Manager route, Privacy Permissions then Startup Manager, is not available from ColorOS 12 to 13 onward. Auto launch lets the app start itself after a reboot.

What does Allow background activity mean on OPPO?

It is a per-app battery permission in ColorOS. Switched on, the app may keep working after you leave it and the display goes dark; switched off, ColorOS can pause it. In ColorOS it is reached from Battery, then Power saving settings and App battery management, where you tap the app’s name.

How to lock apps in recent tasks on OPPO?

Open recent tasks and tap the lock on the dialer’s card. ColorOS then leaves that app alone when you clear the others, which protects a calling session from a habitual clear-all between meetings. Where the lock icon sits varies by ColorOS version and model.

Where is Default App on older OPPO phones?

OPPO’s support pages give Settings, App Management, Default App, and on some devices Settings, Additional Settings, App Management, Default App. Newer ColorOS builds shorten App Management to Apps. If neither path matches your handset, type “default” into the Settings search box.

Is ODialer the official OPPO dialer?

Yes. OPPO’s community forum in India announced ODialer as its official dialer, published on the Play Store after ColorOS phones moved to Google’s Phone app. Whichever of the two your OPPO uses, it can be replaced as the default calling app and chosen again later.

Why do OPPO follow-up alarms go quiet after a restart?

With auto launch off, ColorOS does not let the dialer start itself once the phone reboots, so a reminder booked for the morning can stay silent until you open the app. Turn auto launch on, allow background activity, restart the phone and check that a test reminder still rings.
